Welcome!
We'd love you to join us at Core Church this Sunday.
On these pages you'll find information about who we are, when and where we meet, what our services are like, what we offer for young people and more. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get here and enjoyable when you arrive.
Our next meeting at Bowerhill Primary School will be on Sunday 31st August. On the 17th we are meeting for lunch at The Bell in Yatton Kennell and on the 24th we are off for a walk (time and place to be confirmed when we know what the weather is going to be like).
On Sundays we meet in the afternoon at Bowerhill Primary School in Melksham, Wiltshire. We recognise that for many people Sunday mornings are the only time they get for a much needed lie-in, or to spend quality time with their family, or to do all those jobs that just don't fit into the rest of the week.
Doors open at 4pm with the service starting at 4:30pm and lasting for about an hour, followed by another half-an-hour for people to stay and chat.
We lay out the school hall for a café style meeting with everyone sitting around tables and enjoying the free refreshments (tea, fresh coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juice, mineral water, cakes and pastries, sweets and fruit) that are available throughout the meeting.
Wherever possible we use fair trade products.
Each of our services focuses on a different question or issue, looks at what the Bible has to say about it and considers how what it says is relevant for today. For instance - what is God really like, how can I hear God speak to me, what is God's plan for my life, what about fair trade, I'm too busy - how can God help?
Children from pre-school to year 8 have their own groups that meet at the same time as the adults. We're relaxed about the upper age limit as we've found that some young people are ready to join the adults before they reach year 9. We're also not worried if new children want to stay with their parents for the first Sunday or two whilst they settle in.
