Core Values
Love
We're a group of ordinary people who've come to realise just how much God loves us. Now we want to help other people find out how much God loves them. That's what Core Church is all about.
Jesus said “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
We want people to look at Core Church and say “those people truly care about each other, I want to be part of that.”
Accessibility
Have you ever been to church and felt like you had no idea what was going on? Have you ever taken a friend to church and then wished you hadn't because the service was completely inaccessible to them? We aim to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable and to present Christianity in a way that everyone can get to grips with.
Acceptance
We want to be a church that accepts everyone and aims to help everyone gain God's approval through faith in Jesus. We believe that the purpose of life is to be in a relationship with God - as Jesus put it, God is “our Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:9). We believe that the only way to have a relationship with God is through his Son. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Adoption
The Bible says “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 1:5). Just as God adopts us into his family we want to adopt you into ours. When a child is adopted it's the adoptive parents who are making the commitment, not the child, so we believe that when you join Core Church it should be us who make the commitment to you - the commitment to welcome you into our family, to care for you, nurture you and love you.
